About the Artist
Gina Gabay
Gina started her career at a young age when she worked for a professional sculptor and learned the fine arts of porcelain sculpture and china painting. She studied Studio Art and was an Art Director for a major retailer before advancing to Creative Director for a public affairs firm. Gina's creative career also included Corporate and B to C marketing in the U.S. and Canada.
As an artist, Gina approaches her work with great enthusiasm, a curious mind and an awareness of unlimited possibility. She is passionate about collecting all manner of materials and transforming the mundane and unfamiliar into something extraordinary and unexpected.
Today, when Gina is on the search for inspiration, her studio is the first place she looks. It’s filled with hidden potential and unique ideas—it’s where her “shopping” begins. Gina's studio is bursting with a multitude of materials and objects of curiosity just waiting to be transformed.
By piecing together one or more principal items with assorted elements and objects, and layering subtle embellishments, Gina creates unique works of art that vary from small delicate sculptures to striking medium- and large-scale art statements.
Gina's work is conceptualized and made by hand with great care in her Virginia studio.
